Why a 200-year-old mosque in Varanasi was demolished in the middle of the night
Authorities carried out a heavily guarded overnight operation in Varanasi as land was cleared for an ambitious transport hub project linked to Kashi railway station.
Dr. Ajay, spokesperson for the medical college, told UNI here that Amitabh Thakur was brought to the medical college from Deoria district jail by ambulance on the advice of the jail doctor after he complained of stomach pain and anxiety.

Former IPS officer Amitabh Thakur, who is lodged in Deoria district jail on charges of fraud, was admitted to Deoria Medical College on Saturday after his health deteriorated. He is currently undergoing treatment under the supervision of doctors.
Dr. Ajay, spokesperson for the medical college, told UNI here that Amitabh Thakur was brought to the medical college from Deoria district jail by ambulance on the advice of the jail doctor after he complained of stomach pain and anxiety. Doctors have admitted him and are treating him.

He said that the treatment is being provided by Dr. Rakesh Kumar and his team from the surgery department. Investigations suggest that the stomach pain is related to appendicitis.

He said that an ultrasound and blood tests were conducted today, and a CT scan is currently being performed. He added that if necessary, an operation to remove his appendix may also be performed. He has been kept in the surgery ward. Six police personnel have been deployed for his security.
